Laying by the Pool

I have visited a number of pools in Vegas. I go to different ones for different reasons. In my upcoming trip, I intend on doing some dayclubs for the first time and partying it up at the pool. I might even go to the nightswim at The Cromwell.

I love the Palms pool for lounging and music. They have the very best party music yet they are usually not packed because they are off-strip. I don't really go inside the pool here. I just lay out in the sun, read and listen to great music. There are usually some very good-looking guys here. That helps.

My favorite pool is Rio because they have several hot tubs with lush landscaping as well as the coveted sand beach that we praise Mandalay Bay for (although on a much smaller scale). The music here is also good. Unlike strip pools, I can actually relax here and have my pick of chairs because it's not crowded. Also there are fewer children at this pool too which i love. But I don't mind some of the more mellow children I find at this pool. I also love Rio because one of their pools is warm even when it's hot out. I like a warm pool on entry regardless of the weather.

Hard Rock was one of the most beautiful pool complexes I have ever seen. I hope to explore it more in the future. I love sitting in the pool at Excalibur. They have this shallow, flat part in the pool that is great to sit in (instead of a lounge chair) and soak up the sun. It's packed with kids and 20-somethings but I LOVE the music here. I can read and listen to music. Though it has a slide, I am not fond of hitting the water without being in a tube because water goes up my noes and I am not much of a swimmer. Luxor is creatively impressive but the vibe is kinda dead to be such a large pool complex. I only go out here to sit out in the sun for 10 minutes.

I would probably exclusively go to Mandalay pool if there were not so many kids. The music is not as great as other places either. But the pool complex is like a waterpark. It's excellent. I avoid this pool though now because it's overrun with children. And the pool was the highlight of Mandalay for me, so I do not stay there anymore.

The music at Quad is always excellent but the pool is so unimpressive. Since I enjoy the music, I ask for a pool view and I enjoy the music in the room while I am getting prepared for my day.

Monte Carlo has an impressive pool complex as well with the wave pool, lazy river and such but for whatever reason, and I am not sure, I did not feel excited about this pool. Caesars is open to women so I go and visit there usually fully clothed, walk through, enjoy the beauty and the party atmosphere (virtually no children). Before I lounged on their daybeds before I learned you had to pay for them, so I stopped going to Caesars pool because I could not enjoy their daybeds anymore. I also was swimming by myself in the exclusive villa pool...I had thought it was just a neglected pool with no one in it. After almost an hour of enjoying this luxurious pool celebrity style, I was asked to leave. I think I have definitely enjoyed Caesars pool to the fullest!

Gold Coast is a small pool but it has all the basics and I love just sitting and reading there for an hour or so. Hooters pool is cute, it's 24 hours and they have nice lounge chairs. Their pools are too cold for me though so I might used there hot tub or just catch the rays.

During the warm months, I visit the pool almost every other day (I take long trips). In the cold months, I visit a pool at least once. During all months I find a hot tub to enjoy whether at the pool or at a spa. It is very well-needed and much enjoyed. I actually spend more time just lounging and/or reading whether in shorts or in a bathing suit than I do in the pool. Only when I am at Rio do I spend almost 100% of the time in the pool.

I rarely order food at the pool unless I am with a travel buddy that is hungry and can't wait. This has happened once. I have never gambled at the pool although I am not against it. They should probably get some slot machines at the pool. lol. I really hope nightswims catch on...I just hope it's not as annoying as some clubs.
